4. DO I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THINGS I DON'T WANT TO?
Not at all. What you bring to our sessions is up to you: I will suggest what to work with, but it’s important that you work at your pace. Sometimes during therapy difficult or upsetting emotions may come to the surface, which is normal and understandable, but whether you choose to work with them will always and entirely be up to you.
5. DO YOU KEEP NOTES?
I do make brief notes during or after sessions. These are anonymous and kept securely, and you are welcome to see your notes at any time.
6. WHAT IS CLINICAL SUPERVISION?
In accordance with BABCP guidelines I am required to have regular supervision. This is where I see another senior therapist with whom I discuss my work, to make sure l am working ethically and safely, with your best interests at heart. All my client work is completely anonymous, and my supervisor is bound by the same code of ethical practice as I am (including confidentiality and its limits).
7. CANCELLATIONS
If you need to cancel and can give me at least 48-hours’ notice, you won’t be charged. Generally, though, if you cancel 24 hours or less before the session, payment for the full session will be charged. However, In the unlikely event of my needing to cancel a session, I will of course give you as much notice as possible. We would agree the next best day and time to have another appointment.
